The police today took custody of Om Prakash to investigate him in the Moddu Seenu murder case, after due medical examinations were performed declaring him healthy. In the investigations that followed, Om Prakash told police that he killed Seenu as the latter used to trouble him over for his habits such as writing `Rama Koti’ and performing puja. He also alleged that Moddu Seenu used to humiliate him by forcing him to press his legs. Om Prakash made a rather interesting statement, giving the case a whole new aspect to consider, that he was an ardent follower of Paritala Ravi .
Om Prakash confessed that he murdered Moddu Seenu in a rage over being constantly humiliated and categorically denied any role of an outsider in the murder.
MK Singh, Anantapur SP, said that Om Prakash had a different mental setup, which was evident by his actions in his past such as protesting against the jail authorities over the quality of food being served to him in jail.Singh also informed that in one instance he also tried to attack a judge.
Om Prakash was shifted to Moddu Seenu’s cell after doubting him of stealing his co-inmate’s money, the SP said and added that there were instances where Moddu Seenu humiliated Om Prakash. Singh also denied involvement of any other person in the murder.
Giving out interesting details of Om Prakash’s behaviour in the past, Singh said that Om Prakash was indeed a a devotee of Lord Ram and had submitted two books of `Ramakoti’ to a temple in Vajrakarur, where he spent a few days in jail.
